La Via dei Tartufi

We head south east, towards the castles of Monferrato which grace gently rolling hills most of which are crowned with a classic Italian hilltop village, often with a castle at its centre. There are so many possibilities for our excursions in this region; metalled roads with hardly any traffic, or off-road tracks. On the basis of the capability of the participants your guide will select the most suitable route. As well as being home to some really excellent wines, this area is renowned its white truffles, the king of the dining table in Piedmont. In the right season it will be possible to meet some truffle hunters and take part in their quest where man and dog work together in perfect harmony.
